Are you in a job that meets your needs for balance between work and family life?
Chances are, you are not. Situations like that are difficult to come by these days especially if you are raising kids.
Mainstream jobs usually keep your mind on them 24/7, involuntarily. They don’t pretend to offer the flexibility you need for balance and order in your life, particularly for moms.
To try and help you, I’ve come across a blog covering the findings of a study on jobs that allow for more flexibility than the norm.
Glassdoor, an online job posting and HR service has done some research, resulting in a list of the top 25 jobs for Work-Life Balance appealing for the most part to women.
Without deep diving into the details here, many of the positions on the list based on employee feedback and a quasi- scientific scoring system, are jobs of a technical nature. They pay well and some could be part-time work at home positions.
If you are content to work for someone else, several of the jobs on the list, like Data Scientist, SEO Manager, or Lab Assistant could work out well for you.
If you are currently in a job that only solves one issue, such as helping out financially, but is inflexible, keeping you away from home and the kids, you don’t need a study to tell you that life is out of whack and you need to change jobs if you can.
Looking into some of the jobs on the Glassdoor list might spark your interest in something you have never before considered. You can study the complete list here.
All of us want the ability to manage our families, have time with the kids when they are growing up, and help with finances. We’d also like a little breathing room and a moment to ourselves once in a while.
In today’s world, that kind of balance is decreasing, not increasing, so you must go deeper to find something that offers more freedom to work, take care of the kids the right way, and enjoy life as it is meant to be lived.
There are a couple of ways find to find that balance. Starting a business for yourself that is designed that way from the start offers many benefits and is the surest way to achieve what you want. Searching out a job opportunity that allows for more flexibility is the other way.
Regardless of the path you choose, don’t wait any longer for the life you truly want. You never know, it could be right in front of you.
